Will Sony NGP be Revolutionary?

Sony has come up with a new revolutionary Play station sequel on their most successful and popular handheld gaming console PSP (Play Station Portable). The Sony PSP Sequel is called the Sony NGP (Next Generation Portable) but I say it’s the Sony PSP2. The venue was Tokyo where the first glimpse of Sony NGP was officially launched. They named it as Sony NGP which was actually abbreviated as Next Generation Portable. The small event was just amazing with the new Sony NGP product announcement. The main key points were revolutionary user interface, Touch Screen, 3G, GPRS receiver, motion sensor, cool navigational buttons and Social connectivity. The Sony NGP looks like a real challenge to its competitors Apple and Nintendo. Sony NGP has also the front and back cameras and gyroscopic controls which is really awesome. It also has a touch panel at the backside of the panel. The software titles will be allowed to store on a flash memory based memory card.
Technical Details:
  1. It has a ARM CORTEX A9 Quad Core Processor.
  2. It has High Resolution of 960 x 544 with 5 inch OLED touch screen.
  3. It has 3G + WIFI.
  4. GPS System.
  5. Front and Rear Touch Pads.
  6. 2 Analog Sticks.
  7. Front and Back Dual Cam.
  8. Accelerator motion sensor as in PSP.
  9. An Electronic Compass.
  10. New Media Technology (earlier it was UMD).
Oh God! What all they didn’t put in there? It has everything in it. It might be expensive, But it’s worth buying it. I wonder how the designers have made a touch screen at the backside panel of the PSP NGP. It’s really cool looking at the PSP Next Generation Portable. Officially it’s not PS2 yet. But they coded it as NGP and most probably they are going to release this master piece at the end of the year 2011. I am excited to try this revolutionary gadget. Along with Sony NGP, The Sony Company has also announced the ‘Suite’ application which can be used for the older phones and computers running Google android operating systems. I bet Sony NGP will be a revolutionary Gaming console in 2011.

How to Overcome Fast Cars in Grid PC Game

Grid is a racing game from CODE MASTERS which brought a realistic driving experience in the world of  Racing.A great merit of the grid is 24 hrs race in the game, awesome experience to every player and also lots more in the game regarding sprint, circuit, drift lots more
grid errors
But the major problem with the Game is  to mess up with opponents. The drivers are very professional and very balanced.
I have gained a very tough experience during the race in the Game. All the opponents in the game are very tough to beat…. so finally found the best way up to hang up them in the race….
Its very cool and very easy…. Check this out in simple steps:
  1. Go to the game directory in your drive where you have installed the game and go for option ‘search’.
  2. Now search for name ‘AI’ in the search box.
  3. A list of files and folders  will be showed down there ‘select all’ and rename to any other name as u like….i renamed them as ‘coolpctips’.
  4. Now just go back to your directory and run grid.exe.
  5. And start any race which you want and now you will notice that no opponents in the race will move, in some cases F1 cars may move but they wont continue race to end they just end up during turnings in the track.
  6. And to make game back to normal just rename back the ‘coolpctips’  to AI.
That’s it….enjoy. This can be done only when you feel that the stage is very difficult to handle. So dont play the whole game like this :P Its waste of playing that then.

EA: The PC is an 'extremely healthy' platform

EA Games President Frank Gibeau had some good things to say about the future of PC gaming in a recent interview with Gamasutra. According to the executive, the company's overall strategy to regain market share includes a renewed focus in the platform, and noted that it was "totally conceivable" that the PC will become their biggest market in the future.

"The user base is gigantic," he said. "PC retail may be a big problem, but PC downloads are awesome. The margins are much better and we don’t have any rules in terms of first party approvals. From our perspective, it's an extremely healthy platform."

Casual games on Facebook are a part of the plan, but FPS, MMORPGs and other PC genres are a huge focus for the company, with games like DICE's Battlefield 3 and BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic coming this year. EA also has a big interest in the free-to-play model, pointing out that Battlefield: Heroes is doing very well with 368, 241 new users every month on the PC alone and now have over 7 million registered users since launch. An open beta of Battlefield Play4Free is coming to PC in April and will use the same micro-transaction structure as its predecessor.

The publishing giant is looking to reclaim its once held throne at a time when the general perception about the company has dropped among gamers along its revenue -- which was down 15% last year. It's unlikely we'll see a radical shift in the short term considering console games accounted for 72% of EA's net revenues during its last reported quarter, but it's still good to see some renewed enthusiasm towards the most powerful and flexible gaming platforms of all.

IE8 and Safari hacked at Pwn2Own, nobody tries Chrome

Hackers successfully compromised Safari and Internet Explorer during the first day of Pwn2Own. The event began yesterday at 3:30PM PT and a group from French security firm Vupen exploited Safari 5 running on a MacBook Air in only five seconds, according to Computerworld. That's despite Apple releasing a last minute patch (v5.0.4) to prevent contestants from using known bugs. In addition to keeping the MacBook Air, the team earned a smooth $15,000 for its accomplishment.

Microsoft decided against updating Internet Explorer 8 ahead of Pwn2Own, presumably because it would have come outside of the company's traditional patch cycle. IE8 also fell to its first attacker, Stephen Fewer of Harmon Security. Fewer reportedly used three separate vulnerabilities to escape Protected Mode and bypass ASLR and DEP on Windows 7, something event organizer Aaron Portnoy hasn't seen before at Pwn2Own. Fewer also won $15,000 and the compromised system.

Despite Google's hefty $20,000 prize, no one has even attempted to hack Chrome. Only two parties registered for Chrome but the first contestant was a no-show and the second team wanted to focus on their BlackBerry vulnerability. The $20,000 offering only applied to the first day, but someone could still win $10,000 if they successfully exploit the browser before the event ends on March 11. Hackers will try their hand at Firefox and various mobile platforms today and tomorrow.

Home WiFi gives 30 percent slower connection

Download speeds drop by an average of 30 percent over Wi-Fi, largely due to environmental factors in the home that are out of the control of ISPs. Furthermore, latency increases by 10 to 20 percent with packet loss and jitter negatively affected via Wi-Fi connectivity. Broadband research firm Epitiro presented the data in a new report after sampling over 14,000 subscribers across four countries.
The company set out to quantify the difference in performance between wired and Wi-Fi broadband connectivity, and gain further insight as to why a slower access technology is becoming so popular amongst consumers. Laboratory tests showed that download speeds reduce sharply as signal strength decreases. The impact of subscriber Quality of Experience (QoE) was also investigated to understand the relationship between speeds and potential user satisfaction with common applications.
As speeds got slower, subscribers noticed a difference in the time it takes to download a large file. On the other hand, the data suggested that popular activities such as e-mailing and Web surfing are not noticeably slower when Good to Excellent signal strength is achieved. Video-on-demand, VoIP, and online gaming, however, may be impacted due to higher latency and packet loss over the Wi-Fi connection.
"With sales of wireless devices (laptops, netbooks, tablets, smartphones) now outstripping desktop computer it is clear that wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity is important to consumers," the report concludes. "It also implies that consumer have practical experience of the limitations with Wi-Fi and accept these for the benefit of mobility. Consequently Epitiro recommends that ISPs and Regulators could benefit from measuring subscriber Quality of Experience in addition to traditional quality of service analysis."
